stable and settled in Strahan.after approx 250 km of cycling we arrived in this little sleepy coastal town on the west of tasmania. the industry here is fishing and tourism. River cruises and historical places from when it was being populated by convicts are among the choices for visitors.
i have found myself a job in the fish-factory. we are a friendly and cheerful group of people who gut and pack fish all while listening to rap(not so sure about the rap i must confess)

this is how i look while working

it pays the bill for the miniscule hut that me and peter currently inhabit. it's very cute and it's got heating!!!!!
for all of you who are not familiar with the climate here in taz, i can only say that it's very similar to a swedish autumn. rainy and cold. believe it or not but there was forecasted snow last monday. I think it did snow on the mountains. so a heater is very appreciated, i am also happy about the fact that i am no longer living in a tent with a sleeping bag graded for +15.
i have a lot of time on my hands, not working every day yet...i wait for more work to come my way. so for now to keep myself occupied i am writing another childrens story.
i am still debating whether to post some of it here on the blog and get you guys to give me feedback. it's still in its infant stage though and can't be too brutally criticized yet, so perhaps i will wait until i am ready to hear the truth:)a lot of australian animals feature in it and i learn a lot as i do research for the story.
as soon as i am able to, i will post some pix of the surrounding areas to give you an idea of my home for the next 2 months.
i am very homesick...miss family and all you beautiful people back home. have seen mushrooms which looked just like chantrelles and let me tell you i got very homesick then...no i didn't try to eat them, peter talked sense to me. they did even smell like chantrelles though:)
lots of love
until next time
