it's great and i am enjoying working and earning money for the next adventure.
i got a job as a dishwasher at a restaurant and that led to work in the hotel side of it and then to waitressing at the restaurant. it's 4 star so the service is supposed to be quite posh.
i managed to stuff it up on my first night on the floor though. first i put the wrong group at the wrong table and that started a domino effect where the restaurant had to be rearranged in order to accomodate everyone. my suggestion to let one of the guest in the group get cozy on the floor was met with raised eyebrows and glazed looks until i made it clear that i was only joking. ahhh swedish humour.
then i forgot one mainmeal for one of the tables and when the guy finally managed to get my attention to get his meal his buddies had all finished so in the end he got it in a take away box. he decided to eat it at the table anyway.
funny sight... this man eating out of a plastic container at a place setting with linen, silver cutlery in all various denominations and cristal glasses.
still my collegues are a patient lot and only laughed at my minor blunders. at least i was still smiling the whole time. you can get away with a lot in the hospitality industry as long as you smile i realise:)
i have started a crafty project...on days off me and peter head for the dump to see what marvellous things you can find there. one day we found an old rope in good shape so now i have unravelled it and from the fishfactory i got a hairnet and voila...it is turning into a wig...it will take a while to finish it though. it will probably be finished in time for halloween i'd say.
